BlockShow is making a comeback to live events by collaborating with BlockDown to host a cryptocurrency festival at a renowned Hong Kong venue in May 2024.
BlockShow, an internationally recognized blockchain and cryptocurrency conference, is returning after a four-year hiatus to partner with the BlockDown Festival, powered by PR firm EAK Digital. This collaboration aims to create a Web3-themed festival in Hong Kong in 2024.
Founded in 2016 and supported by Cointelegraph, a leading blockchain industry news outlet, BlockShow is teaming up with EAK Digital to organize the BlockShow X BlockDown Asia edition at Hong Kong’s Cyberport, a government-endorsed venue. Cyberport, home to major Web3 enterprises like Animoca Brands, is often likened to Hong Kong’s Silicon Valley and is set to be the primary location for this major event.
Scheduled for May 8-9, 2024, the main conference will be complemented by additional side events over several days. Hong Kong was chosen due to its emergence as a major technology and Web3 center. The Cyberport will be transformed into a Web3 city, featuring various floors, exhibition areas, galleries, meeting spaces, cafes, restaurants, workshop rooms, open-air zones, and more.
The BlockShow X BlockDown festival is designed to convert Hong Kong into a Web3 hotspot for five to seven days, including several conference stages, an art gallery, a gaming area, a music stage, a startup and venture capitalist zone, and more. Key themes include SocialFi, GameFi, Web3, art, music, culture, decentralized finance (DeFi), and tangible assets.
Additional days of the BlockShow X BlockDown Asia event will delve into subjects like Bitcoin Ordinals, specific DeFi sectors, gaming, and more. Organizers also plan social networking activities, incorporating sports events like futsal and tennis, and dining experiences in some of Hong Kong’s finest restaurants.
Aiming to attract 5,000 participants, early bird tickets for the BlockShow X BlockDown event are priced between $290 and $1,190, with a forthcoming price hike expected.
BlockShow’s founder, Addy Crezee, believes that the Web3 industry will experience significant growth in 2024, with Asia leading the next major market surge:

A Unique Web3 Festival
Since its inception in April 2020, BlockDown has been a key player in virtual Web3 conferences, uniting the crypto community during the pandemic with notable industry figures such as Changpeng Zhao and Erik Voorhees.
BlockDown has hosted six online events during the pandemic, including special editions like BlockDown Latam and BlockDown DeData, featuring discussions with figures like Edward Snowden and Gavin Wood.
The first physical BlockDown Web3 festival occurred in 2022 in Sibinik, Croatia, focusing on the intersection of Web3 and culture. The festival continued with the 2023 BlockDown Portugal event, featuring a metaverse fashion show and partnerships with major brands.
BlockShow has previously organized several conferences, starting with BlockShow Europe in Munich in April 2017, when Bitcoin was around $1,200.
BlockShow organized three in-person Singapore events in 2017-2019 and a Las Vegas conference in 2018. The organization pivoted to online events in 2020 due to the pandemic.

BlockShow has historically featured notable figures from the cryptocurrency and traditional financial sectors, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
The upcoming BlockShow X BlockDown conference is set to be a hub for significant announcements and insightful content, with a focus on speaker diversity and partnerships with media outlets like Reuters and Bloomberg.
