Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of the second largest cryptocurrency in the world Ethereum (ETH) informed is public that on September 9 this year, his son Dmitry Buterin was the victim of a cyber attack attacks on the social network X, better known as the former Twitter.
Vitalik Buterin warned the users of the social network “X” not to interact with it now with a deleted message on his son’s account. All this happened because of the upgrade Ethereum network better known as “Proto-Danksharding”.

More specifically, the cyber attack consisted of a link that redirected users to a malicious site that would link to a non-existent non-fungible token (NFT) where it would requested access to users’ crypto wallets. After giving permission to access their crypto wallets, users would lose their funds. Popular blockchain analyst ZachXBT, in a post on Twitter, reported that a total of about 691,000 was lost US dollars in the said incident.

Ethereum developer Bok Khoo, also known as Bokky, was among the victims Poobah. According to him, significant amounts of CryptoPunk NFTs were stolen collection, which ranks at the very top according to price and reputation.

Please note, the aforementioned upgrade of the Ethereum network has the code name EIP-4844 or Danksharding. It is about the improvisation of high fees for transactions carried out on to the Ethereum network (English gas fee).
